As a Grass Valley newborn photographer, I’m often asked to travel to client’s homes. Although I have a studio, I’m always happy to pack up my gear and head over to my clients, to make sure everyone is most comfortable during their postpartum time. As a mother of three, I’ve been in their shoes before, and I know how nice it is to relax at home instead of traveling shortly after birth.
I met Natalie, Dustin, and baby Austin for their shoot just a week after he was born. This sweet family responded to my model call after our midwives connected us. And I can’t tell you how happy I was to find them. They were the absolute sweetest family, and so welcoming. I was so impressed with how smooth they were transitioning to a family of three!
Austin was such a champ for his session. We took our time to get the perfect shots, and he was the most adorable model! I originally did a model call because I had some new props and poses I wanted to photograph. One of these happens to be the blue and grey bonnet pictured below, which I made! Besides being a photographer, I also love to craft, and lately I’ve been channeling my creative juices into newborn bonnets. It makes a session even more special when I can create a custom prop for each family.
I’m so happy I was connected to Natalie and Dustin and got to take these photos for them. I am so in love with this whole session, and I hope you love them too!
